A Paper Crane For You. 🀥

"I will write peace on your wings and you will fly all over the world."

-Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Elanor Coerr

This was a very special project for me, a very personal story I wanted to channel into the beautiful art of visual imagery. As I sit here at Starbucks, I can't help but fight back the tears & get emotional over how deeply the symbolism of the paper crane ties into one of the most traumatic moments I have ever experienced.  I want to be open & raw about my life & other things as I continue my blogging adventures; plan to share more about this time of my life in a future post. I know that doesn't leave you with much understanding regarding the meaning behind the paper cranes, but just know that in 2014 Heaven gained a beautiful angel. To you, Katie-me-lady. ♡

Traditionally, it was believed that if one folded 1,000 origami cranes, one's wish would come true. It has also become a symbol of hope & healing during challenging times. As a result, it has become popular to fold 1,000 cranes (in Japanese, called "senbazuru").
